Women’s Health Coach & Founder of The Holistic Nurse
My name is Freya. I am a women’s health coach and emergency nurse with a lifelong passion for health. After school, I completed my Certificate III in Personal Training and my Reiki certificate. I then spent time travelling and working in hospitality before finding my way into nursing, a career I genuinely enjoy. I value being able to care for people during the worst moments of their lives and bring compassion and empathy into the room.
Over time, working in acute and busy wards led to significant burnout. I noticed exhausted staff, poor quality of life for nurses and shift workers, and patients repeatedly presenting with the same issues. Many were told everything was normal, sent home with prescriptions, and given no education on lifestyle or nutrition. It felt like a constant band-aid fix rather than addressing root causes. Working in an emergency highlighted how backwards the medical system can be and how people are becoming sicker at younger ages, which is concerning.
This lack of education and empowerment led me to study functional health and gain my certification as a women’s health practitioner. Through my learnings, I discovered how much I can improve through changes in lifestyle and nutrition and how incredible the body is when given the right information.
Today, my passion is working with women who feel lost or dismissed despite ongoing symptoms. My goal is to educate and empower my clients to take their health into their own hands and address their lives holistically. I offer kind, caring, and supportive mentorship that is individualised to each client’s lifestyle or shift work, focusing on long-term, sustainable change rather than quick fixes.
My aim is for my clients to sleep well, wake up energised, feel confident nourishing their bodies, spend more time in nature, understand their light environment, move their bodies in ways that work for them, and develop a deep understanding of their cycle phases and hormonal health.
My own health journey began in my teens with chronic UTIs, mental health challenges, toxic relationships, and ongoing illness and fatigue. Despite seeing many specialists, nothing changed until I began addressing stress, nutrition, and lifestyle. Later, intense training, calorie counting, and processed foods led to chronic fatigue and severe nausea despite normal test results. This became another turning point, guiding me towards intuitive eating, whole foods, nutrient-dense nutrition, and a more balanced approach to health.
This lived experience shapes the work I do today and fuels my passion for helping women heal, feel empowered, and prevent chronic illness.
MY PHILOSOPHY
At the core of my work is creating long-term, sustainable change by improving sleep, restoring energy, and learning how to nourish and support the body through the foundations of health. The goal is to help prevent chronic illness in the long run and support women who are told everything is “normal” but know they don’t feel their best.
I believe in empowering women to take their health into their own hands through education around what works for you, your body, and your goals. My approach is not cookie-cutter or based on band-aid fixes, but instead supports women who want to live a more balanced life and tune into their bodies.
